General Responsibilities:

Develop and commercialize new packaging solutions across a wide range of product/package forms. Develop innovative and cost-effective packaging to address company objectives, with a focus on new products and productivity. Responsible for the coordination and development of all packaging components and specifications, implementation into production, and support equipment. Responsible for identifying risks in design and operations and implementing solutions to mitigate risks.

Duties:

• Lead/Drive package commercialization working closely with cross-functional team members.

• Work with cross functional teams to identify, recommend, and deliver productivity opportunities.

• Translate research findings into meaningful business opportunities and engage with cross-functional teams to achieve results.

• Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies through interaction with vendors and industry experts to expand new product pipeline and develop actionable recommendations.

• Provide packaging assistance to other departments and subsidiaries.

• Adapt and apply scientific principles to new situations/products and have a high degree of autonomy.

• Maintain and upgrade knowledge and education.

• Performs other tasks as needed

Climate:

Work is performed with minimal supervision. The position works within a team environment, which requires communication with all levels of management and production personnel. The Sr. Engineer will be handling multiple projects, which requires excellent project management skills.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in packaging, mechanical or industrial engineering

• 5+ years of CPG packaging experience

• Strong understanding of package functionality and interrelationship of packaging, equipment and process

• Excellent communication, influencing, project management and problem-solving skills

• Ability to lead, coach others and coordinate various task teams

• Efficient with ArtiosCAD, CAPE/TOPS, and database applications
