What You'll Do {#what-youll-do dir="ltr"}

Passionate about helping an organization win with their people and in the marketplace - join Royal's HR Team as a Benefits Specialist. This role is uniquely scoped to lead our benefits and leave initiatives, for all of our facilities, including processing all FMLA, STD/LTD and workers compensation claims. In times where claims are low, you will flex support to our recruitment team, alongside any other projects and duties within our greater HR team. We are looking for someone who has a strong attention to detail, a passion to assist and engage with internal and external customers and who is eager to be a culture carrier of Royal via their customer service skills.  Based out of our Royal Center Corporate facility in Hudsonville,MI, this position reports to the Compensation, Benefits and HR Compliance Leader.

Responsibilities: {#responsibilities dir="ltr"}
  • Lead the leave administration process for FMLA, short term disability, or other leaves, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
  • Responsible for the overall administration of Royal's employee benefit programs including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance.
  • Oversee the return-to-work process for employees returning from leave.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
  • Regularly analyze benchmark data and propose changes to our benefit offerings.
  • Manage annual open enrollment 
  • Provide customer service to team members by answering benefit related questions and problem solving resolutions.
  • Present on benefit plans to new hires during orientation and assist in new hire enrollment.
  • Flex support for other needs and projects within the HR team including, but not limited to:

    • Hourly Recruiting: Application review, onsite/phone interviews, and onboarding

    • Regional support for all locations - Cullman AL, Hudsonville MI, Mission TX

What You'll Bring {#what-youll-bring dir="ltr"}

Qualifications: {#qualifications dir="ltr"}
  • Minimum of 3-5 years HR Benefits experience, required

  • Bachelors in Business, HR, or related field, preferred

  • Strong knowledge and experience with FMLA claims, ADA, and related federal and state regulations

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to travel within the US - likely not more than 3 times per year
