BAE Systems Senior Principal Software Engineer II (Architect) in Hudson, New Hampshire

Job Description

This opening is for a large and dynamic program supporting a premier electronic warfare initiative for a military aircraft. The software leverages cutting-edge technologies to conduct electronic attack operations, providing critical support to the warfighter by disrupting adversary communication and radar capabilities . This program is funded, in a growth phase and expected to continue for years to come.

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to join its Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) group in Hudson, New Hampshire where you will work with a diverse group of professionals who design the products and systems that support enhanced military capabilities, protect national security, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure. As a Software Architect you will become an integrated member of the team collaborating with Systems, Hardware, and Test Engineers to define and influence scalable, high-performance software systems that enable mission-critical electronic attack and defense capabilities. You will prepare design and project artifacts intended to be used within complex programs, or across sets of programs, in accordance with established processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Play a lead role in the software architecture design, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance with program requirements.

  • Develop and maintain system software for electronic warfare applications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate software solutions seamlessly.

  • Analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize software.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and tools to incorporate innovative solutions.

  • Define and document software architecture.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Secret Security Clearance (active within the past few years)

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and minimum of 10 years experience or equivalent

  • Strong software architecture, design, and development experience using C in a Linux environment

  • Experience with real-time embedded and/or application software development

  • Knowledge of containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and Automated DevSecOps pipeline tools (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket)

  • The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical lead to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions

  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master s degree in computer science or computer engineering

  • Experience with electronic warfare, radar, or communication systems

  • Active CompTIA Security Certification

  • Full life-cycle software development

  • Agile development experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
