Job Description:
Position Summary:
This role is responsible to represent the company's general merchandise, health and beauty care (GM/HBC) department by developing close, positive and effective relationships with our current customers and cultivating new business based on providing effective solutions, guidance, strategies, retailer programs and tools that foster success in their business and Company.
This role will travel to customer locations in an assigned territory on a daily basis.
Here's what you'll do:
Manage ordering, pricing and stocking of products based on service agreements with retailers
Responsible to know and understand all company GM/HBC products and programs in order to effectively sell them to new and existing customers
Inform retailers of special buys, newly introduced products and seasonal trends or deals
Act as the primary liaison between the Company and its customers by developing positive, strong, close and lasting customer relationships that enhance trust in the Company, improve customer loyalty and longevity and ensure quick and effective communication and problem resolution
Increase sales by speeding up new item introduction, maximum product penetration, increasing quarterly perishable sales, capitalizing on marketing trends, selling and utilizing merchandising and marketing programs, planning as assisting retailers in special event and seasonal programs
Increase concentration of purchases from the Company with existing key accounts by driving top 25 plus items into plan-o0grams and using other sources of leverage to enhance sales results
Provide expertise to customers on operational and merchandising issues and recommend solutions
Present new ideas to upper management to increase sales
Measure the outcome of busies-building initiatives through review and analysis of sales reports for targeted customers (independent retailers) compared to baseline reports; identity opportunities for growth based on such
Maintain contact with customers via telephone, email and frequent site visits
Analyze and/or review data analysis from Merchandising or Sales Manager to prepare ideas/recommendations for presentation to customer
Ensure general knowledge and understanding of all Company center store products
Ensure retailers understand all the value-added services the Company provides
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
