HAUL LANE MANUFACTURING INC Truck/Diesel Mechanic in Houston, Texas

We are a growing company in the East Downtown area. We specialize in working on Class 8 semi-trucks and trailers the construction industry such as dump trucks, water trucks, vacuum trucks, and hydrovacs.

We are looking to add an experienced Diesel Mechanic to our team. The primary duties will include: Inspections, engine repair, diagnostics, air brake system repair, aftertreatment system repair, installation of hydraulic systems, and suspension and frame modifications.

Starting pay is $45 per hour.


Qualified candidates "Must" have the following skill set:

  • Strong character and work ethic.
  • Dependable, responsible team player with a positive attitude.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience.
  • Extensive knowledge in the repair and maintenance of one or more of the following areas, diesel engines, power trains, electrical, air-conditioning systems, air brake systems, diesel aftertreatment systems, and diagnostics.
  • Able to read, understand, and apply information from manuals and computers including trouble-shooting documents.
  • Strong "Diagnostic" skills.
  • Strong verbal and documentation skills.
  • Own your own tools.
  • Have or be able to get a CDL.
  • Have your own vehicle for transportation.
  • Have a valid drivers license.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic checks, follow troubleshooting guides, and repair/replace wiring harnesses, broken wires, sensors, and aftertreatment components.
  • Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
  • Install injectors, cylinder heads, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, brakes, repair HVAC systems, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
  • Remove and replace engine assemblies.
  • Install PTOs, hydraulic systems, and other equipment.
  • Read and fill out work orders accurately. Keep detailed notes on completed procedures on trucks.
  • Perform detailed inspections of all vehicle components and note any needed repairs.
  • Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $45+ per hr.

Experience:

Diesel engine repair: 3 Years

Mechanical knowledge: 3 Years

License/Certification: OEM certifications, and ASE Heavy truck certifications a plus but not required.
