Join Our Team as a Senior Transportation Engineer in the Western United States!

Are you a driven Transportation Engineer looking to expand your expertise and lead a dynamic team? Look no further! CDM Smith's Transportation Services Group is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to elevate our Roadway Discipline capabilities in the Western region.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead various roadway projects, including interstate and interchange design, while overseeing the production of roadway designs.

Coordinate technical content daily to ensure top-notch delivery standards.

Set clear expectations as the technical content leader for transportation projects.

Drive consistency and efficiency in project delivery throughout the organization.

Enhance project quality management and promote Intellectual Property reuse, particularly on multi-discipline design projects.

Ensure on-budget, on-time project delivery while minimizing risks of claims and rework.

Review and seal engineering designs as required, maintaining alignment with location specifications.

Collaborate with sales staff to develop proposals in response to client requests.

Engage with current and potential clients to understand and address their design needs.

Participate in conferences and symposia to showcase our products and services alongside sales staff.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff for their growth within the discipline and the firm.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 12 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

DOT design experience including but not limited to Texas, Washington, Caltrans, Missouri and/or Nevada.

Currently registered as a PE in any or all of the following states; CA, WA, TX, MO, NV, or ability to obtain registration within 6-9 months.

Excellent technical writing with the ability to develop work plans and document technical discussions required

Successful multidiscipline team/task management or design lead experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Experience with technical design software including Autodesk and Bentley platforms, including ProjectWise and OpenRoads designer.

Complete understanding of technical project production and delivery methods.

Critical thinker with an understanding of transportation and/or systems concepts required.

Background Check and Drug Testing Information:

Additional Compensation:

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
