Steam Cracker Derivatives Commissioning Manager

KBR is looking for a Steam Cracker Derivatives Commissioning Manager to support a multi-billion-dollar project. This role will oversee all activities during Commissioning, Start-up, and Operations. The Steam Cracker Derivatives Commissioning Manager will manage and control Commissioning, Training and Maintenance activities and human resources in order to achieve desired targets in conformity with established cost, quality, schedules, process performance and loss prevention requirement defined by the Contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the entire CSO (Commissioning, Start-up, and Operations) team

  • Act as the initial contact for Technical Managers when priority conflicts arise

  • Ensure that the overall manpower requirements for the complex are met to satisfy production objectives

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the plant operation and maintenance procedures

  • Ensure that personnel and safety issues are given priority to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

  • Contribute to and implement operational, administrative, cost control and loss prevention policy and procedures

  • Implement and enforce process safety management policy and procedures in respect of process safety information, hazard analysis, training, subcontractor compliance, plant integrity, work permits, emergency planning and response, incident investigation and compliance audits

  • Develop the overall Commissioning and Start-Up logic to ensure a smooth turnover of all systems from Mechanical Completion (MC) to Ready for Start-up (RFSU)

  • Develop the Commissioning and Start-up Work Schedule

  • Confirm personnel participate in P&ID Reviews, HAZOP and Model Reviews identifying Operability, Maintainability and Start-up issues and concerns

  • Ensure the implementation of the Completions Software, Philosophy and Team are in place to facilitate Project Completion

  • Confirm the Commissioning, Start-Up and 2 Year Spares are adequate, acquired, received and inventoried ready for use

  • Determine the work prioritization, and ensure that operability and maintainability aspects of the Complex are addressed at all Phases and areas of the Complex (Utilities, Process, Offsites and Jetty)

  • Ensure that systems and subsystems necessary to facilitate and expedite timely CSO Activities are identified and utilized

  • Generate PC&CSO Procedures, Operations and Maintenance Procedures

  • Have signatory authority/responsibility for any work permits at site on behalf of the company

  • Liaise with the Client Commissioning Counterpart during the Engineering, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning Phases and achieves high level of team communication through routine meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

  • 10 + years of directly related experience, with an average experience of 20 + years

  • In lieu of formal education 18 + years of directly related experience

  • Proven ability working Commissioning, Start-up, and/or Operations on Steam Cracker Derivatives Units

  • Aromatics Extractions Units CSO experience

  • Pygas Hydrotreating Units CSO experience

  • Plastics Units (Polyethylene, Polypropylene)

  • Capable of reading and understanding Instrument, Electrical and P&ID drawings

  • HAZOP, SIMOPS and Technical Reviews

  • Effective leadership and communication skills

  • Must be highly proficient MS Office Applications e.g., Word, Excel, Project, Power Point

  • Motivated self-starter with complex problem-solving ability
