Job Summary

Performs a wide variety of accounting functions, such as preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling ledger accounts, monthly reports, reviewing purchase orders, resolving cost discrepancies; maintains records; research problem areas; develops analysis of general ledger accounts and issue reports on findings. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Prepares daily inventory report and investigate significant variances in materials, work in process and finished goods accounts and conduct job cost detail analysis.

  • Tests logic reviews and recommends modifications to accounting system critical reports and procedures.

  •  Assist in the annual financial and capital budget process.

  • Performs flux/trend analyze on income statements; works with operation manager to resolve discrepancies and or identify root cause and prevention action need.

  • Creates and post manual journal entries as required timely and accurately.

  • Performs key account analysis and reconciliation for specified balance sheet accounts for the monthly & quarterly binder books. 

  • Involved in weekly staff meetings, offers solutions to problems and stays informed on issues that directly affect areas involved in.

  • Participates in the annual physical inventory process include organizing, staffing and auditing upon request.

  • Participates in other general accounting function as needed.

    Skills

  • Knowledge of computerized management information systems

  •  Advanced Level in Excel, Microsoft Word, Windows 

  • Principles of Accounting GAAP

  • Basic understanding of business ethics

  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills

  • Accounting processes and procedures

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish

    Work Experience 

  • Minimum of one year of business experience performing accounting work of a detailed nature, preferably in a manufacturing organization that has a Standard Cost System.  

    Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

  • Visual acuity to process paperwork.

  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time.

  • Ability to perform routine audits in a manufacturing facility by inspecting operations.
