Our team is searching for a Senior Business Analyst to support the strategy & business development activities for the North American Basic Petrochemicals division. You’ll evaluate ideas, projects, and alternatives for the business that is at the heart of Verbund.

As a member of the Basic Petrochemical Business Development team in Houston, you’ll analyze, develop and implement projects that will drive BASF into the future.

As a Sr. Business Analyst, You Create Chemistry By...

• Understanding the drivers of the petrochemicals market, and support the development of the Basic Petrochemicals Strategy

• Evaluating specific capital investment projects in multiple price scenarios vs. identified alternatives.

• Analyzing commercial proposals to support Olefin, EO, & Neopor business teams

• Build the economic business case, rationale and supporting documentation for Merger & Acquisition activities.

• Providing economic support of Sustainability Projects, including ones focused on increasing the Circular Economy and/or CO2 reduction ideas.

If you...

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Chemistry or related degree or equivalent combination of knowledge and 10 years experience. Masters in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

• Have strong Analytical skills and a curiosity to understand how the Basic Petrochemicals division generates revenue.

• Have superior Financial Acumen and enjoy distilling a chaotic environment down to the critical parameters.

• Highly motivated and able to work independently/interdependently depending on the specific project requirements.

• Possess at least 5 years of experience in developing strategy, economics, or business development experience.
