Description

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Industrial Distribution team in Houston. The ideal candidate will be a CPA and will take on a wide range of accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role is critical in supporting our month-end closing activities, balance sheet reconciliation, intercompany transactions, journal entries, GL accounts, variance analysis, process improvement initiatives, and audits.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Closing: Manage and execute month-end closing activities, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

  • Intercompany Transactions: Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

  • Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post journal entries as needed to support the month-end close process.

  • GL Accounts: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

  • Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and provide actionable insights.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting department.

  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.

    Requirements

Senior Accountant Requirements:

  • CPA required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the industrial distribution or manufacturing industry.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP).

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
