Description We are in the process of hiring a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health and transparency of our operations. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including general accounting tasks such as financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and handling fixed assets. This role is set within the industry and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

• Process journal entries including accruals to maintain accurate financial records.

• Conduct month-end close procedures and reconciliations to ensure all accounting activities are completed within the set timeframe.

• Perform bank reconciliations to verify the company's bank balance with its financial statements.

• Handle fixed assets accounting, ensuring accurate and timely capitalization, valuation, and depreciation.

• Prepare Form 1099 and Sales tax documents in compliance with federal and state tax laws.

• Conduct personal property tax renditions as required by local jurisdictions.

• Use Microsoft Excel and other systems such as Microsoft Dynamics and Power BI for efficient data management and reporting.

• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, to ensure smooth operations and coordination.

• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and flexibility, particularly during busy periods, to meet accounting deadlines and demands. Requirements

Experience Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Finance

• 3-5+ years experience, combo preferred

• Financial reporting, Journal entries (including accruals), month-end close, reconciliations, etc.

• Fixed Assets

• Advanced Excel

• ERP, not just QuickBooks. They implemented Dynamics 365 last year and still working though enhancements there.

Preferences

• Big 4 or similar

• 1099 preparation and Sales tax

• Power BI
