Job Summary: The Slitter Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining slitting machines to cut materials to specified widths and lengths according to customer orders and production schedules. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The Slitter Operator works closely with other team members to ensure efficient production flow and high-quality output. Key Responsibilities: * Operate production machinery in accordance with vendor specifications and safety requirements. Assigned machines may include roll formers, slitters, shears, benders, press brakes, forklifts, overhead cranes or other assigned equipment. * Must be able to acquire Whirlwind equipment certifications where applicable. * Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances. * Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. * Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces. * Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance. * Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area. * Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required.  * Previous experience operating slitting machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment is preferred. * Ability to follow directions and work well in a team. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. * Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations. Physical Requirements: * Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping. * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
