Arkema is seeking a Senior Training Specialist to support our Houston and Pineville, TX sites.

This role reports to the HR Business Partner, interacts with all levels within the plant organizational structure and serves in leadership and support capacity for all aspects of training function to plant departments. Provides administrative training support for both sites. Supports overall training and employee development objectives for the Houston and Pineville plants. Responsible for complying with all AIMS HESQ policies & practices and assisting with audits. This includes compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ regulations and permits) quality systems, and safe work permit practices.

TRAINING

➢ Coordinates training for plant personnel. These efforts include set up and administration of the

training database as well as training matrix, creating reports and communicating with personnel to

ensure on-time completion of all required training items.

➢ Conducts positional training needs assessments by meeting with each department quarterly to update

the plant training matrix.

➢ Conducts periodic training system assessments and audits to ensure that appropriate training is being

assigned to and completed by all plant personnel to meet regulatory, corporate, federal requirements,

and address any plant specific needs.

➢ Supports the Arkema Integrated Management Systems (AIMS) process by participating in internal and

external audits and maintaining training focused policies, procedures, documents and records.

➢ Ensures accuracy and compliance by maintaining the LMS system by entering data and assigning

coursework to employees.

➢ Maintains KPIs aligned to training and provides monthly progress reports to stake holders.

➢ Assists in identifying and developing training initiatives consistent with current and future plant goals.

➢ Leads ongoing development of job competency models along with associated evaluation guidelines.

➢ Maintains record retention, including but not limited to employee training files, coursework files,

testing materials, training materials and products.

➢ Tracks all training surveys and evaluations efforts for instructor led and computer-based training.

➢ Schedules and coordinates new hire orientation training and instructor led training events.

➢ Conducts positional training needs assessments to assist with identification of performance

improvement plan objectives.

➢ Assists all plant departments with development and implementation of job specific training

curriculums.

➢ Provides tracking and administrative training support for the certification & recertification program for

each department.

➢ Owns the process of maintaining hourly Operator & Mechanic testing electronically.

➢ Updates and maintains process documentation for procedures on the SharePoint HR and site pages.

➢ Assists HESQ with driving safety programs, audit action items and initiatives.

➢ Networks with other Training Specialists across Arkema, particularly the Beaumont and Clear Lake

plants, to leverage best practices.

➢ Coordinates and facilitates monthly training meetings for Gulf Coast sites to include Beaumont and

Clear Lake.

HUMAN RESOURCES PROJECTS

➢ Assists in new hire testing and selection of candidates.

➢ Leads the New Employee Onboarding Process.

➢ Assists in tracking plant training, development and engagement Spreadsheet.

➢ Conducts orientation sessions as a backup for the HR Business Partner.

➢ Participates in various activities outside to support local site and corporate functions such as

job/career fairs, and community relations efforts.

➢ Serves as backup on the hourly & salaried recruiting process. This includes scheduling of interviews for

all open requisitions and ensuring interview evaluation forms are completed.

➢ Coordinates onboarding activities for hourly and salaried hires, including contractors, coming onsite

and as needed with new Developing Engineers.

REQUIREMENTS

➢ Associates or equivalent degree

➢ Minimum 5 years of experience

➢Proficient in MS office products

➢ Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills

➢ Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

➢ Up to 15% travel

➢ Experience in administration of LMS software a plus.
