What is the job about?

The Senior Projects Engineer will contribute to a thriving CBS CSSC Strategic Projects Hub team by providing timely and effective technical advice to the incoming inquiries with special focus on distributed pumping. Develop detailed engineering designs for HVAC distributed pumping systems, considering factors such as pump selection, pipe sizing, control strategies, and equipment layout. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate the pumping system design seamlessly into overall HVAC and building designs. This position reports directly to the Project Execution & Engineering Manager and will operate on a hybrid schedule out of the Brookshire, TX facility.

Your main responsibilities :

Provide Product management and technical support by delivering world class Customer Service by applying established procedures and guidelines to provide technical quotation, information, advice, and assistance regarding Grundfos´ products and services before, during, and after a transaction to maintain and improve the organization´s Customer relationship. Maintain relationship with vendors and offer product training to Customers, Sales and CSSC team members. Coordinate with all stakeholders in supporting the projects.

  • Conduct thorough analysis and calculationsusing existing Grundfos software and tools to determine the optimal size and capacity of HVAC pumping systems based on project specifications, load requirements, and environmental conditions.

  • Support other engineering disciplines for HVAC distributed pumping systems, considering factors such as pump selection, pipe sizing, control strategies, and equipment layout.

  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate the pumping system design seamlessly into overall HVAC and building designs.

  • Identify and select appropriate pumps, valves, and related equipment based on project requirements, energy efficiency goals, and industry standards.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in HVAC pumping technology and integrate innovative solutions where applicable.

  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant HVAC codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Stay informed about updates and changes in codes related to HVAC systems and implement necessary adjustments to designs.

  • Work closely with distribution, customers, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate and integrate HVAC pumping systems within overall project plans.

  • Provide technical support during the construction phase to ensure the proper installation and commissioning of pumping systems.

  • Create comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculations, to convey the design intent to project stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate records of design changes, decisions, and project communications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, distribution, mechanical engineers, and clients, to address project requirements and design considerations.

  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Communicate, collaborate, and provide support with the respective product segment or other suppliers, where local problem solving is not available.

  • Support with ad hoc tasks defined by leadership.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field – minimum 5 years’ experience

  • Proven experience in HVAC system design, with a focus on pumping systems.

  • Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC codes, standards, and industry best practices.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge SAP (CRM/SD).

  • Familiarity with MS Office applications.

  • Fundamental Product and Application Knowledge – Interpret type keys, identify pumps vs spare parts, kits vs motors, identify where product is built (not essential).

  • Good communication and networking skills together with the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships with both Internal and External Stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.
