Position Summary

The Sr. HR Business Partner will be accountable for having a deep understanding of business priorities and proactively enacting people strategies to achieve them. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, they work closely with the business providing hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on people-related issues: talent management, recruiting, employee relations, coaching/development, compensation, conflict management, organizational development, and training. The ideal candidate can balance competing priorities, problem-solve, and work with a diverse body of stakeholders across a company. A servant leader who puts the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Align the Human Resources initiatives to the business. Provides HR guidance on people initiatives to drive business outcomes.

  • Acts as HR leader and strategic thought partner for the business, being the point of contact to leaders and employees in handling employee relations, performance management, recruiting and staffing, compensation, learning and development, employee engagement, compliance, and succession planning matters.

  • Self-driven with ability to partner and build relationships to effectively work with entry-level up to senior level employees.

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.

  • Research, analyze, and recommend improvements to remain current with HR policies and practices in the market and in similar industries. Additionally, will administer and interpret HR policies & procedures ensuring clear communication, compliance, and equitable application.

  • Works with business leaders to accomplish the recruiting goals for the sites to include preparing and maintaining accurate job descriptions, ensuring the staffing levels are managed to the headcount plan through outreach and other creative measures, improving talent pipeline, screening candidates, extending offer letters, and leads the onboarding process.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal as needed/required.

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work drive culture improvements, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    The Senior HR Business Partner will grow with the company responsible for supervising a team of HR professionals.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required

  • On-site position from Houston, TX office

  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred.

  • Travel up to 20%

  • Minimum 8 years of comprehensive HR experience

  • Experience with a Managed Service Provider (MSP) is preferred

  • Proven track record as an HR business partner who persists when faced with adversity to maintain the integrity of corporate policies and procedures.

  • Deep knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, policy creation, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

  • Demonstrated success at building effective relationships

  • Ability to lead with a positive attitude and approach challenges head-on

  • Experience independently handling employee relations issues

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
