Position Description
Accounting manager responsible for all revenue accounting activities related the sale of lease revenue accounting for the CO2 business segment. This position reports to the Director of Revenue and has responsibility for managing a staff of 4 revenue accountants.
Responsibilities
Manage all accounting activities for the lease revenue accounting and to ensure business in compliance with GAAP requirements and Sarbanes Oxley audit requirements.
Manage monthly accounting close processes and deadlines to ensure accurate P&L financial entries and reporting, including journal entry review and account reconciliation review for balance sheet integrity
Management of accounting personnel and business processes that includes recording commodity revenue, customer invoicing, accounts receivable collections and reporting and payment and reporting of state severance taxes
Review and analyze monthly revenue variances to budget and forecast for monthly management reporting
Ensure accounting control compliance per KM policy.
Work closely with both operational, marketing, and financial planning teams to ensure accurate reporting of multiple asset’s revenue transactions.
Manage and coordinate both internal and external audit inquires and resolutions.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / CPA candidates preferred
10 + years of direct Oil & Gas accounting experience with strong knowledge of KM accounting applications and business processes.
5+ years of supervisory experience
Proven communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of different functional groups, including operations, marketing and segment management
Ability to work independently to prioritize and manage team work load, accounting deadlines and required resources.
Self-starter with high degree of initiative, attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Strong working knowledge and analytical skills Excel skills. The role is expected to work with and develop, where required, multiple Excel files on a daily basis.
Develop a hands on knowledge of the CO2 business unit regarding accounting and regulatory practices for settling royalty and severance taxes.
