Essential Job Responsibilities: Following are the specific job responsibilities and duties necessary to accomplish the job purpose.

Developing high performing Travis dealers is Job 1!

  • Ensure AOR has total sales coverage by dealer network.
  • Coach and train dealer salesforce on key product lines.
  • Meet frequently with key dealer business development personnel.
  • Monitor sales and profitability of assigned dealers; improve where possible.
  • Maintain current key dealer personnel contacts and make available to all departments as required.

Engage in various dealer / customer development activities within AOR:

  • Develop and implement individual strategies to meet AOR goals and objectives.
  • Ensure proper and timely quote processing of customers.
  • Ensure trailers are ordered accurately, delivered timely, defect-free with accurate specifications and pricing.
  • Interact daily with all levels of customer management.
  • Liaise with all Travis departments to provide sales, service and/or business management expertise to resolve difficult situations or conditions in a timely manner. When needed, arbitrate; negotiate impasse situations between all areas of Travis and our dealers and/or customers.
  • Develop customer opportunities and market promotions (i.e. open house participation, local end user activities, joint publications, local advertising, etc.).
  • Manage competitive equalization process between Travis and dealers / customers.
  • Provide voice of customer information on product development, service, parts and warranty needs / wants to appropriate Travis area.
  • Monitor important competitive updates and communicate this information to appropriate Travis departments.
  • Assist with regional / national trade show coordination as assigned.
  • Submit timely, detailed customer contact and expense reports.
  • Maintain weekly sales pipeline report, as well as monitor and provide periodic reports on assigned dealers and customers.

Essential Skills, Experience and Education: Following are the skills, experience, education and related course work typically required or expected to perform the essential job functions:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 7 years of progressive sales experience, including demonstrated exposure to trailer or related transportation field or industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, a highly flexible approach to the workplace, a professional image and strong work ethic are required attributes.
  • Good communication, listening and negotiation skills are of the utmost importance as are common sense, perseverance.
  • Ability to analyze strengths and weaknesses of dealers, customers and competition.
  • Ability to problem-solve, plan strategically, and utilize financial analysis to evaluate various alternative strategies is critical.
  • A proactive orientation to customer service, with solid evidence of participating in business development.
  • Proficient computer skills, email communication and MS Office.

  • Customer focused mentality

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Valid DL

Essential Physical Requirements: The physical factors and working conditions required or expected while performing the essential functions of the job are described below:

  • Regular sitting for prolonged period of time (driving)
  • Regular use of computer
  • Limited reaching over head with, at least, 2 lbs. weight.

  • Travel expectation 60-70%
  • Must reside in TX.
