Job Title: Pump Mechanic

Job Description

Seeking a pump mechanic/machinist to repair pumps and rotating equipment, particularly progressive cavity and centrifugal pumps. Candidates will be assembling, disassembling, and troubleshooting centrifugal pumps. They will machine parts needed for repairs such as shafts, sleeves, and impellers using a lathe and mill. They will be working on High Speed Separators/Decanters, progressive cavity pumps, centrifugal pumps, liquid ring vacuum pumps, tube pumps, disk pumps, ANSI pumps, steam turbines, and gear motors. There are a wide variety of pumps ranging from 10 lbs up to 3,000 lbs, but mostly centrifugal pumps.

  • Machine a variety of pump parts (i.e., shafts, sleeves, impellers, etc.)
  • Assemble/Disassemble pumps and rotating equipment
  • Assemble/build skidded pump packages
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Perform simple dimensional analysis (using calipers, etc.)
  • Conduct simple quality control of equipment received and shipped

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Houston, Texas.

Work Environment

Day shift: 8am-5pm M-F. Overtime and weekends depending on production needs. Working in a small manufacturing environment with only 6 other mechanics in the shop. This is not a climate-controlled environment, but doors are open, and it is a clean, organized shop.
