Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Per Diem RN - Pre-Assessment Testing - ASC in Houston, Texas

Responsibilities

Provides nursing care to patients in an assigned unit. Possesses knowledge and skill necessary to meet nursing standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nurse Practice Act with supervision. Recognizes when assistance is needed and seeks appropriate resources. Practice is characterized by a balance of dependent and interdependent decision making. Focus is on expanding knowledge and skills for specialty area. Provides patient care through nursing-based practices upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance. Values specialty unit, nursing, and institutional strategic initiatives and health system goals.

Job Type: Per Diem

Salary Range: $42.99 – $55.01 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

Education

Required:

Per Diem RN I/II/III

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Per Diem RN IV

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Preferred:

Per Diem RN I/II/III

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Experience

Required:

Per Diem RN I

None

Per Diem RN II

2 Years RN in PACU, Pre-OP or Endoscopy

Per Diem RN III

5 years RN in PACU, Pre-OP, or Endoscopy

Per Diem RN IV

7 years RN in Pre-Op, PACU, or Endoscopy

Preferred:

Per Diem RN I/II/III/IV

RN experience in Pre-Op, Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), Emergency Room (ER), Infusion Therapy, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or hospital setting

Work Units:

Required:

2 or more units

Per Diem RN IV

3 or more units

Texas RN license

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required for Endoscopy and PACU.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Must have one of the following certifications:

  • Certified Ambulatory Peri Anesthesia Nurse (CAPA)

  • Tele-ICU Acute/Critical Care Nursing (CCRN-E)

  • Acute/Critical Care Knowledge Professional (CCRN-k)

  • Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN)

  • Certified Ambulatory Surgery Nurse (CNAMB)

  • Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN)

  • Ambulatory Care Nursing or Pain Management (RN-BC)

Texas RN license
