Key Responsibilities:

The Manager of Aircraft Inspection will have full responsibilities of ensuring that suppliers adhere to United's inspection policies & procedures. Manager will have supervisory responsibility over maintenance, inspection and OSV staff and be responsible to fill in as needed for Senior Manager. Provide required inspection oversight and support of all inspection activities as required by United GMM. In addition, this position will conduct supplier base maintenance manual training to suppliers as needs. May support other air operators in the performance of maintenance and is responsible to ensure the work performed complies with the customers regulatory and maintenance program requirements.

  • Perform site visits at Outside Vendor Stations to work on eliminating potential non-compliance & coordinate work QA to prevent quality escapes

  • Accomplish and coordinate cross departmentally aging aircraft inspections, more than 100 inspections a year

  • Execute daily operation plan and follow-up

  • Monitor and control compliance to FAA approved required inspections and other inspection tasks performed

  • Short term guidance and direction to subordinates

  • Apply continuous process improvement and implement process, tooling and systems improvement initiatives as appropriate

  • Assume upgrade duties for Senior Manager for vacation coverage as needed

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High School and post High School Aviation Maintenance Technical Training or equivalent Associate Certificate or Military Aviation Training

  • Five years experience in the OSV representative role with inspection experience of large transport aircraft

  • Experience supervising maintenance or inspection personnel

  • FAA Airframe and Power plant Certificate

  • Understanding of engine systems and structure, Federal Air Regulations, Operator Maintenance and Inspection Program, including Maintenance Procedures and Repair

  • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing methods and principles

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $109,820.00 to $149,600.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
