Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
A cardboard box manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform electrical and mechanical repairs throughout the production facility. The technician will troubleshoot and repair equipment, performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs to minimize downtime on the production line. Preventative maintenance according to the PM schedule is also a key responsibility.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair motors, PLCs, variable speed AC and DC drive controllers.
Perform electrical repairs including troubleshooting circuits such as E-stop circuits and run circuits.
Calibrate sensors and trace circuits to identify issues.
Understand and troubleshoot servo motion controls, incremental and absolute position encoders, and resolvers.
Read and interpret electrical schematics.
Perform mechanical repairs including hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance.
Repair or replace motors, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, etc.
Fix various equipment such as conveyors, die cutters, large printing machines, a 300 ft. long corrugator, palletizers, wrappers, and material handling equipment.
Essential Skills
5+ years of maintenance experience.
Ability to troubleshoot and trace sensors and circuits.
Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, electrical motors, and drives.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Experience with maintenance on motors, chains, sprockets, belts, etc.
Hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance experience.
Possession of own tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in packaging or high-speed manufacturing environments.

Work Environment
The work environment is a fast-paced manufacturing setting. It is non-climate controlled and can be hot on the floor due to the machines, but there are many fans in the building. The working schedule includes Monday to Saturday/Sunday, with a weekend off every three weeks. There is also flexibility to work on Sundays as needed or take Saturdays off if the workload allows. Shifts are currently from 7 pm to 5 am, with plans to eventually move to 3 shifts: 2nd shift (2 pm - 10 pm) and 3rd shift (10 pm - 6 am). Training will be conducted during the day for 2-3 weeks before transitioning to the assigned shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00
