Responsibilities
The Clerk‐Mail position maintains the proper distribution and processing of incoming and outgoing mail along with shuttle service and courier service.
Sorts and distributes mail (incoming US Mail, interoffice, inter‐institutional) for hospital and suburban hospitals by department, location and category
Operate Mailing Equipment: mailing machines, scales, folder, and accounting system
Drives the Shuttle
Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles
Mail Window: gives customers (patients, visitors, employees, physicians, executives, etc.) postal information, operates mailing machines, cash registers, and window report
Transport/deliver items as requested via Transportation Request: courier service within the Medical Center, dietary deliveries, medical records, confidential correspondence, pick up mail and meter mail to post office, receiving and distributing product received from the loading docks, day surgery cart, etc.
Specimen and lab: responsible for delivery and pick up of blood samples
Other duties as assigned such as: answering phones, special shuttle services, transportation for health fair events, maintain and complete delivery records
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
*High School Diploma/GED
- CDL license preferred
*One (1) year of related experience
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training
*Expected to sort and distribute hundred of amil and packages daily
*Driving records must be acceptable to insurance company; this means a driver must not have more than two traffic violations in three years if he/she is under 25 years old
*Must be courteous and business like behavior
*Flexibility to work weekends on a rotational basis.
Pay Range
$12.00 - $16.18 /hour
