About Houston

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

  • As a senior leader within our Low Carbon Solutions team, you will be a leading player in the strategy and execution of our business. You will play an integral part in designing and building full-cycle foundational analysis for transactions, including the formulation of financial analyses and preparing internal and external presentations.

  • You will be expected to assume significant levels of responsibility requiring process management, leadership and analytical aptitude.

  • In the hydrogen commercial manager role, you will lead complex negotiations with 3rd party international and fortune 500 companies to close sales and purchase agreements for low-carbon hydrogen

  • Manage relationships with senior management of various potential customers in the low-carbon hydrogen businesses

  • Manage group of advisors supporting the various deals in the group

  • Provide recommendations, obtain alignment, and provide regular updates to ExxonMobil senior management on negotiation progress

What you will do

  • Interact closely with senior team members to design and develop terms for low-carbon hydrogen sales and purchase agreements

  • Define, guide and review detailed valuation analyses for potential sales agreements

  • Lead development of commercial offer to customers, including pricing and key terms, underpinned by company and sector research and deep insights on competitive landscape

  • Lead negotiations with customers and drive to completion robust sales and purchase contracts for low-carbon hydrogen

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather information and assess risks and opportunities associated with potential agreements

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the deal process

  • Supervise and manage a group of advisors

About You

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or business disciplines

  • 10+ years of combined experience in commercial and business development roles

  • Commercial negotiation experienced with complex, multi-party agreements required

  • Excellent financial modelling skills (e.g., discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, comparable acquisition analysis)

  • Strong understanding of the energy, low-carbon, or infrastructure industry, market trends and competitive landscape

  • Sense of ownership of work product and the ability to handle several projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet time sensitive deadlines, often working with multiple managers

  • Ability to effectively manage interpersonal relationships across multiple functions and in a diverse work group"

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Experience with merger & acquisition strategy & tactics preferred
