Job Description

We are looking for an IT Asset Management Specialist to oversee the lifecycle of IT assets within the organization, ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency. This position will be a temporary-to-hire (3-6 months) and onsite .

What You’ll Do

  • Asset Lifecycle Management:Oversee the procurement, deployment, utilization, maintenance, and disposal of IT assets

  • Inventory & Tracking:Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware, software, and licenses using asset management tools

  • Compliance & Licensing:Ensure adherence to software licensing agreements, regulatory requirements, and company policies

  • Cost Optimization:Identify opportunities to reduce IT costs through efficient asset utilization, vendor negotiations, and procurement strategies

  • Policy & Process Development:Establish and enforce IT asset management policies, standards, and procedures

  • Vendor & Supplier Coordination:Work with vendors and suppliers for purchasing, maintenance contracts, and renewals

  • Audits & Reporting:Conduct regular asset audits and generate reports on asset utilization, compliance, and financial impact

  • Collaboration:Work closely with IT security, finance, and procurement teams to align ITAM strategies with business objectives

  • Risk Management:Identify and mitigate risks related to IT asset security, loss, or non-compliance

  • Tool Management:Utilize ITAM tools and software to automate tracking and reporting of IT assets

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in IT asset management, IT operations, or related roles

  • Strong knowledge of IT asset management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, ISO 19770)

  • Experience with ITAM tools such as Ivanti, ServiceNow

  • Understanding of software licensing models (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, etc.)

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to lead asset audits and ensure compliance with corporate policies and industry standards

  • Knowledge of cloud asset management and SaaS subscription models

Preferred:

  • ITIL Certification or other ITAM-related certifications (e.g., CSAM, CITAM)

  • Experience in Public Sector IT

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
