MD Anderson Cancer Center Grant Program Manager - Internal Medicine Clinical in Houston, Texas

Pre-Award

· Identify RFAs and funding for Faculty. Reviews RFA for all guidelines and requirements

· Submits proposals to include collection of required documents and adherence to all sponsor and institutional guidelines

· Ensures accuracy and compliance with sponsor regulations and institutional policy.

· Establish templates for proposal submissions for items such as budget, budget Justification, facilities and Resources, equipment and others

· Prepares and develops grants, budgets and justifications.

· Ensures that administrative and financial support and other resources are available.

· Completes award set up to include internal processes such as advance set up, Budget Authorization Form for awarded budgets.

· Maintains faculty other support documents and biosketches for utilization during the grants submission process.

· Provides oversight and maintains database and tracking system of all grants to monitor status of submitted, pending, awarded and funded grants.

Post-Award

· Provides divisional support to assigned departments to include independently planning, implementation, and management of all grant funding and grant initiatives. and in place to help ensure the research is fully supported.

· Prepares and submits progress and other reports including no-cost extensions, carry- forward requests, budget transfers, effort reduction requests, etc.

· Monitors the progress of existing grants.

· Subrecipient monitoring to include routing subcontract items and following through to ensure subcontract agreements are processed in a timely manner.

· Communicates with faculty, institutional, federal, private, program, subrecipients and other officials in grant related matters relying on independent decision making.

· Coordinates with the Legal Department and Grants and Contracts the issuance of subcontracts and follow through on invoice payment.

· Serves as a resource to others who participate in the grant process.

· Trains new team members, providing direction in research administration procedures.

Research Administration

· Provides management in all aspects of grant awards. This includes pre-award, post-award, progress reports, no-cost extensions, and close outs.

· Works closely with the Financial Analysts to ensure funding plans are completed for all PIs and teams.

· Meets quarterly with Principal Investigators to proactively review grant funding status, research personnel support and deadlines and to ensure compliance with prior approval requirements of each funding agency.

· Supports effort reporting for the Division of Internal Medicine.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of grant management experience such as grant writing, grant submission and financial administration and one year of lead or supervisory experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one year basis. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
