What are we looking for?
The Geotechnical Laboratory Manager is responsible for coordinating, managing, monitoring, and performing assigned laboratory testing. We’re looking for a candidate who can effectively manage and perform necessary testing while providing exceptional customer service.

What you’ll do:
Enter data gathered from laboratory tests into reports
Maintain and develop laboratory testing programs
Handle laboratory equipment, perform equipment calibrations and track equipment maintenance
Must understand ASTM standards, AASHTO, USACE and TxDOT specifications required to manage the laboratory operations
Must have prior experience running physical laboratory testing of soils (Atterberg, -200, unconfined compression, gradation) in accordance with applicable ASTM procedures
Must have a knowledge of running Triaxial tests (UU and CU), consolidation tests and permeability and swell tests
Provide technical competence to interpret and effectively communicate test procedures, specifications and results with team members, customers, consultants, and specifiers
Work in the field, at construction sites as needed.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
2+ years' experience working in the Geotechnical Testing laboratory
At least 1 year of supervisory experience
Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record
Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
Ability to climb occasionally
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
Associate’s degree from a technical or four-year school
ACI Concrete Strength Certificate
NICET certifications
