We are looking for a careful forklift operator to move packages and material around our facilities. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities.

You must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

salary: $13 - $14 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

A forklift operator, also known as a material handler, is responsible for moving materials around a warehouse or manufacturing facility using forklifts and other industrial vehicles:

• Documenting: Complete forms, handle documentation, and maintain accurate production records

• Quality assurance: Report product damage and shortages, and perform quality assurance duties

• Rotating stock: Rotate stock so that oldest items are shipped or sold first

• Radio communications: Use radio communications to determine priorities

• Loading and unloading: Pick, pack, and load products onto or off of trailers, rail cars, and cargo ships

• Moving materials: Use forklifts to move pallets, crates, and other materials around the facility

• Stacking: Stack loads in the correct storage bays

• Maintaining equipment: Perform regular maintenance on forklifts and other tools, and inspect machinery to determine if repairs are needed

• Following safety regulations: Adhere to health and safety regulations, and ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods

Forklift operators should have the following skills and abilities:

• Excellent teamwork skills

• Ability to read labels and numbers

• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

• Good physical health

• Ability to stand for a long time
