Houston Methodist Family Medicine Physician – GME Core Faculty - Sugar Land Campus in Houston, Texas

Houston Methodist Primary Care Group, is seeking a board certified Family Medicine primary care physician to supervise Family Medicine residents in the resident Primary Care Clinic and serve as Core Faculty for the family medicine residency program. This is a clinical faculty position in an outpatient setting with a strong focus on academic responsibilities. Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as attending/faculty physicians in the residency continuity clinic supervising residents.

  • Provide direct patient care for patients in the Family Medicine Clinic.

  • Assist in developing, directing, and managing the Family Medicine residency program.

  • Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.

  • Regularly participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, including journal clubs and conferences. Serve as role models and mentors for the residents.Participate in scholarly activity and quality improvement projects with the residents.

The ideal candidate will have proficiency in teaching and precepting residents, experience in graduate medical education, and skills in research or quality improvement focused in ambulatory care.

Qualifications include current certification by the American Board of Family Medicine and eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Texas.

The core faculty will also be provided academic titles with our Houston Methodist Academic Institute and our Medical School affiliates such as Weill Cornell Medical College and/or Texas A & M College of Medicine. Ultimate title of Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor is commensurate with experience.
