What You’ll Do
As a Data Engineer Intern, you will assist in the development and optimization of data pipelines, contribute to data modeling and transformation, and support the integration of various data sources. You’ll work with modern data engineering tools and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve real-world data challenges. Here’s a snapshot of your responsibilities:
Data Pipeline Development: Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and workflows using Python and Prefect.
Data Transformation & Modeling: Work with DBT (Data Build Tool) to transform and model data for business intelligence and analytics.
Data Storage Solutions: Implement and optimize data storage solutions using Databricks and Delta Tables.
Data Integration: Support the integration of various data sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and security.
Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting of data workflows to improve efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Documentation: Contribute to documenting processes, workflows, and solutions for team knowledge sharing.
What You Bring to the Table
Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience: Familiarity with Python for data processing and analysis, and exposure to or experience with tools such as DBT, Prefect, Databricks, or Delta Tables. Skills: Knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and database design principles. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Attributes: Excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and a passion for tackling data challenges and learning new technologies.
