We’re currently looking for community outreach canvassers to join our team to support and move forward crucial community projects through 2024 and beyond. 

ABOUT THE POSITION

We’re currently looking for a Team Trainer to temporarily join our field team through the 2024 General Election. This position will help train and support the canvassing team. 

Position Requirements

  • Ability to work 30 plus hours per week, including early evenings.  Required

  • Ability to work weekends.  Required

  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance to drive to different neighborhoods throughout the county

  • Ability and familiarity with downloading and using smartphone applications such as mapping, time clocks, data capture, and communications

  • Ability to work in a highly structured team environment.

  • Must feel comfortable being in the field training canvassers alone, and also in the early evenings

  • Willingness and ability to work safely in outdoor weather- heat, rain, cold

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to maintain a structured conversation when talking to canvassers.  

  • Willingness to learn and openness to feedback for improvement

  • Ability to make changes and improvements in work practices based on collected metrics of previous work

    Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support Manager on training community canvassers about the campaign, candidate research, election process, RAP and MiniVAN

  • Assist with Distribution of Materials & PPE 

  • Participate in training and staff meetings, as assigned. 

  • Document any challenges or obstacles encountered in the field, and be prepared to offer solutions and workarounds to overcome them 

  • Door knock, as assigned

  • Other duties, as assigned. 

  • Must not work for political candidates during employment.  

  • Hours throughout the program will vary week to week
