Job Description
The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 11 universities, a comprehensive health science center, eight state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. Job Description Summary:
The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health is responsible for helping to lead and direct new Health activities and other strategic initiatives that leverage TAMUS strengths and yet unpursued opportunities. A specific goal is to extend the footprint and reach of innovative health initiatives and partnerships. In so doing it is expected that the national profile of TAMU will be advanced and become even more of a destination for top tier faculty and students.
Responsibilities:
- Advises and supports the Vice Chancellor for Health and Strategic Initiatives in all so designated activities.- Helps gather and analyze strength, performance and opportunity data- Helps develop tracking and assessment algorithms- Serves as interface with TAMUS institutions as needed- Develops and maintains policies, processes, guidelines,- Facilitates growth and integration of activities across partners in the TMC- Support open and regular communications- Ensure appropriate affiliation agreements, MOUs, and PSAs are in place with medical sites and practitioners (as needed).- Support in advancing Entrepreneurial Opportunities- Help harvest and capitalize of TAMUS generated IP in Health such as produced in ENMED- Assist in annual planning- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:- PhD or other equivalent professional degrees or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of administrative and/or educational experience within a medical school, academic medical center, or teaching hospital.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Interpersonal and communication skills- Ability to plan and organize effectively; flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances.- Ability to problem solve by analyzing issues and creating action plans; ability to manage projects and people.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
