Summary This position provides loads and dynamics analysis support to NASA human space flight programs, including the International Space Station, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, Space Launch System, Commercial Crew Program, Gateway, Human Landing System, and Lunar Surface Mobility. You will perform linear/nonlinear analysis and testing of structural loads and dynamics involving aerospace systems. This position requires experience in loads and dynamics analysis with emphasis on space vehicles. Responsibilities Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee. Performs linear/nonlinear loads and dynamics modeling, analysis, and simulation of complex aerospace structural or mechanical systems, including, launch vehicles, space stations, and/or space vehicle docking/berthing systems. Supports the dynamic testing of complex dynamic aerospace structures or contact dynamic mechanical systems for flight certification, performance characterization and model validation/correlation. Reduces, processes, and assesses dynamic structures or contact dynamic mechanism data collected during ground tests or space vehicle flights. Supports the performance of loads and dynamics Integrated Analysis Cycles (IAC) of Space Vehicles and Couple Loads Analysis (CLA) of launch systems. Supports the technical review for the development, design, testing and evaluation of spacecraft systems with respect to the loads and dynamics discipline. Supports the performance of Independent Verification and Analysis (IV and V) to verify and validate loads and dynamics analysis used in flight safety decisions. Provides technical support to System Managers on loads and dynamics matters as they relate to the Flight Readiness Review (FRR) and Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR) processes. Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Champion NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility to create an environment that promotes a commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork.
