Description

We’re partnering with a fast-growing company in Downtown Houston to find a highly motivated and flexible Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This newly created role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to take a hands-on role in optimizing AR processes. Key Responsibilities:

As an AR Specialist, you will:

  • Work directly with the accounting department to assist in managing the accounts receivable process.

  • Help the team catch up on AR balances, including handling and resolving the AR aging process.

  • Ensure tight reporting processes by accurately transferring field reports into the correct customer formats.

  • Collaborate with field technicians to collect reporting details while maintaining accurate data (note: no current customer-facing responsibilities).

  • Use basic Excel skills for tasks like data entry, formatting, and reconciliations.

  • Adapt to changes as the organization transitions to a new ERP system, ensuring seamless integration of AR processes.

  • Offer flexibility and readiness to take on tasks in a constantly evolving environment.

    Requirements

Educational Background:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply, though prior AR or accounting experience is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with major ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, QuickBooks, etc.), with a willingness to learn new platforms.

  • Basic Excel proficiency – must be comfortable using spreadsheets for entry-level tasks and reconciliations.

Soft Skills:

  • Adaptable to change and open to improving internal processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to handle tight reporting deadlines.

  • Collaborative mindset to work closely with field operations and accounting teams.

  • Ability to maintain focus and precision when handling repetitive tasks.
