Robert Half Accounts Payable Manager in Houston, Texas

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving payment discrepancies, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate records in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in accounting practices

• Verify vendor accounts and resolve any discrepancies in Purchase Orders (POs), invoices, or payments

• Collaborate with various internal departments to collect, analyze, and interpret financial data

• Conduct high-volume reconciliation of POs and invoices

• Maintain precise customer credit records and monitor customer accounts

• Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports such as aging reports, cash flow projections, and vendor performance metrics

• Ensure timely payments are made in accordance with agreed terms

• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and support

• Suggest improvements to workflow processes and procedures

• Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to maintain accurate records

• Collaborate with procurement and finance departments to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices. Requirements • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Manager for a minimum of 10 years

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential

• Extensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures

• Previous experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable

• Familiarity with the manufacturing industry and its financial regulations

• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles

• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Proficiency in English and in MS Office

• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
