Carrick Trucking & Gravel is currently looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Fabricator. Need someone willing to travel between our various aggregate processing locations in northern and central Michigan to service/repair/maintain our equipment. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. We conduct drug screenings as well. Pay is based on experience.

• Must have 3 years prior experience
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, diesel and electronic systems
• Repair machinery such as bulldozers, cranes, graders, excavators and other construction equipment
• Thorough knowledge of the construction, design, assembly and maintenance of a wide variety of special purpose heavy equipment
• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts, replacing tires)
• Considerable knowledge of tools and equipment needed for the overhaul, repair and maintenance of heavy automotive equipment
• Knowledge and a high degree of skill in diagnosis of trouble reported on the various pieces of equipment
• Ability to keep records of repairs, time and parts used for the servicing equipment
• Skill in the use of instruments and tools employed in the checking and repair of motors and special equipment
• Excellent mechanical aptitude, coordination and dexterity
• Travel to various work sites to repair, service and maintain heavy equipment
