Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine’s Patient Engagement and Customer Solutions (PECS) team is recruiting for a home office-based, Associate Director, Field Access & Affordability Solutions Oncology position within the Patient Engagement and Customer Solutions (PECS) organization, whose goal is to create more personalized, seamless, and supportive experiences to help patients start and stay on treatments across the portfolio.

The Associate Director (AD), Field-Based Access & Affordability Solutions will be responsible for leadership of 2 direct reports that support Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) field operations and FRM launch strategy and execution. The AD position will involve identifying and pursuing opportunities to enhance patient access to Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine products to deliver a best-in-class, personalized patient experience. The ideal candidate must have a high intellectual curiosity, demonstrate an ability to distill and prioritize key insights, and develop and execute on patient focused strategy and tactics. The individual should also have a track record of success with innovation that will contribute to a seamless customer experience in helping patients start and stay on Janssen therapies.

A Day in the Life

Every patient’s healthcare experience is unique – shaped by personal experiences and beliefs, the presence or absence of support networks, provider and payer dynamics, and socioeconomic factors. For many patients, the decision to start or stop a treatment is overwhelming. Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine recognizes this, and wants to create an experience that is personalized, helpful, and hopeful.

The Associate Director, Field-Based Access & Affordability Solutions will work to elevate the patient impact of our Oncology Field Reimbursement team. Their day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Field Reimbursement KPIs and Initiatives: Develop and monitor KPIs that support patient fulfillment. Foster collaboration between FRM and other customer or patient facing teams including field sales, Janssen CarePath Care Coordination, etc. Manage budget allocations related to field team training, recruiting, headcount, and related investments.

  • Partner Collaboration: Partner with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to pull in relevant strategy and enhance FRM value. Stakeholders include: FRM teams or equivalent in other Therapeutic Areas, Oncology Marketing, Patient Experience Leads, PECS Solutions Teams, Field Sales, Sales Learning & Development, Commercial Insights & Strategy, Legal, Regulatory, HCC, and outside vendors.

  • Insight Generation: Anticipate market and competitive trends and articulate insights to inform FRM program evolution. Understand the desired customer experience and create open lines of communication about gaps & opportunities in the customer journey. Generate insights to inform training, deployment, and prioritization of activities.

  • Upskilling & Tools: Shape and launch FRM resources and trainings that support a simple and meaningful approach to meeting customer unmet fulfillment needs, inclusive of full management of CPC, CAC, and MRC reviews. Develop and coordinate launch execution plans for new assets and pull through on key priorities. Define and track metrics that set FRM teams up for success with creating the desired customer experience.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required

  • A minimum of five (5) years business experience, including experience in Sales, Marketing, Account Management, Operations, Analytics and/or related fields is required

  • Direct people management, field management, or participation in a Management Development Program experience is required

  • Practical knowledge and experience with health insurance and access & reimbursement landscape including FDA regulatory and legal environment and HCC regulations required

  • Oncology experience required

Strong Business Acumen : Innovative, proactive, and strong analytically with excellent overall business acumen. Experience in Immunology or other specialty market is preferred. Knowledge of specialty pharmacy providers and Biologic therapies access and reimbursement required

Strategic Thinking: Must be able to demonstrate ability to think strategically and successfully operate in two worlds - big picture orientation with attention to detail.

Communication. Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to simplify the complex, connect with an audience, and effectively use communication to influence and engage across all levels of the organization.

Relationship building. Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated track record for forging strong, productive relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders and colleagues.

Collaboration. Effectively work in a team environment that will require you to coordinate activities and build partnerships across multiple internal/external organizations, as well as influence without authority when partnering cross-functionally.

Accountability. Eager to set ambitious goals and take ownership for results. Proactive defining actions and following through. Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple priorities.

Flexibility. Can dynamically adjust priorities due to changing circumstances. An agile learner who is comfortable operating in complex environment.

Travel. This position will split time between Horsham, PA and Titusville, NJ and requires up to 25% domestic travel.

The base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
