The Blake School is actively seeking a passionate full-time Middle School computer science teacher beginning in the 2025-26 academic year. We're looking for a candidate who brings an enthusiasm for computer science and computational thinking along with strong collaboration skills and a proven commitment to learner-centered pedagogy and creating environments for wonder and awe.
Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity and lived experience that makes a community strong and empowers students to engage across differences. Blake provides substantial resources for professional learning in areas including adolescent development, learning differences and intercultural competence. Blake will cover the travel and lodging costs for finalist candidates visiting from out of town.

They recognize that in an interconnected world, it's essential for students to not only master technical skills in Javascript, HTML/CSS and Python but also to cultivate adaptability and resilience. Collaborating closely with other members of the PK-12 computer science department, this individual will play a key role in shaping the future of our Middle School computer science program, preparing students to navigate and excel in an ever-evolving world.
Required Experience:
As part of this team you would:
Teach computational-thinking skills through the lens of computer science to students in grades 6-8 in quarter-long classes
Collaborate with other members of the computer science department as well as divisional faculty to develop cross-curricular experiences
Model a love of learning and foster an environment that invites all students to participate in exploration and innovation
In addition to teaching responsibilities, Middle School faculty actively engage with the broader community, advising students, participating in school events and contributing to various committees and meetings.
