Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

KBR is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Manager to oversee, manage, and maintain electrical systems, power generation operations, and utility infrastructure within a military setting. The ideal candidate will possess extensive leadership experience, technical proficiency in electrical systems, and hands-on expertise in both military and commercial power generation. Familiarity with additional utilities such as water production and fuel systems are a significant advantage. A strong ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics is required.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and management of electrical systems, including military and commercial power generation systems.

  • Supervise and mentor a team of electricians and technicians, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to operational standards.

  • Read, interpret, and create electrical schematics for maintenance, troubleshooting, and construction purposes.

  • Plan and manage electrical construction and renovation projects, ensuring compliance with military and civilian regulations.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure system reliability and operational readiness.

  • Ensure all electrical systems and infrastructure comply with local, country, and military codes and standards.

  • Collaborate with other utilities managers to integrate and optimize water production, fuel systems, and power operations.

  • Conduct system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Monitor project progress and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders, including military officials and civilian authorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Trade school licensing in an electrical-related field is also acceptable.

  • Minimum of 7(seven) years of leadership experience in construction, electrical systems management, or similar fields.

  • Proficiency with project management software and tools to include Microsoft Enterprise, NexGen, TRIRIGA etc.

  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices (e.g., NEC, NFPA).

  • Proven expertise in managing both military-grade and commercial power generation systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of workplace safety practices and the ability to enforce safety regulations.

  • Experience in managing large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects.

  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.

  • Willingness to respond to emergencies and work extended hours when required.

  • Must pass a background check and meet security clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior military experience or experience working within a military installation.

  • Familiarity with DoD-specific requirements, protocols, and standards.

  • Knowledge of utility systems such as water production and fuel management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in high-pressure and dynamic environments.

  • Expertise in reading, interpreting, and developing electrical schematics.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional team collaboration.

  • Ability to work effectively in a military setting and maintain operational readiness.

  • Valid Master Electrician License (or equivalent state license).

  • OSHA 30 Certification.

  • NFPA 70E Certification.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent construction management certification.
