Regular, Full-Time, Limited-Term (not to exceed twelve (12) months in duration), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawaii Maui College (UHMC), TRIO - Pai Ka Mana (PKM) Student Support Services (SSS) Program, located in Kahului, Maui. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $4,700 - $5,070/Mon.

DUTIES: Serves as a UHMC point of contact for the TRIO - Pai Ka Mana SSS Program. Works with program participants and provides informational services, outreach and referrals. The primary focus is on the target population of students who identify as first generation and low-income college students and students with disabilities. This includes conducting ongoing needs assessment, creating individualized plans of service, monitoring/documenting participants progress in activities designed to promote successful college experiences, and maintaining a database of detailed student academic records. Assists program participants with the postsecondary process, which includes completing postsecondary applications and assessments, selecting appropriate courses, exploring career options, and financial literacy. Works with program staff to plan, coordinate, and implement activities that are used to promote the programs goals and objectives. Collaborates with UHMC partnering departments and coordinators to serve eligible participants. Collects and documents student progress to demonstrate that grant objectives were met. Recruits, interviews, and orients new program participants. Delivers presentations to program participants. Participates in recruiting and hiring process, and trains and oversees UHMC program mentors. Coordinates and/or oversees the work of student assistants. Participates in program evaluation through follow-up surveys. Recommends and implements approved corrective measures to assure the needs of each participant are met and to demonstrate that grant objectives were met. Assists Director in preparation of Federal and University reports. Must be flexible to special program hours (including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays) with advance notice. May travel out-of-state to attend national trainings.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION Bachelors Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university. EXPERIENCE At least three (3) years of relevant experience providing outreach, referrals, or counseling. KNOWLEDGE Extensive knowledge of postsecondary education programs, practices, and procedures. ABILITIES and SKILLS Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others. Ability to examine information and arrive at solutions or take appropriate actions. Ability to establish, maintain, and secure student records and files, including computerized data files. Must possess computer software skills with commonly used professional software programs, and ability with social media. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Title IX training within twelve (12) months from date of hire. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
