Oracle Principal System Administrator in Honolulu, Hawaii
Job Description
What you’ll do: -Maintain, support, and optimize OCI Cloud hosted virtual machines. -Provide escalated technical support for sophisticated technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status. -Coordinate escalated support cases and lead appropriate internal technical resources and/or third-party vendors to resolution. -Responsible for Oracle production environments, supporting server operating system tuning, application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching.-Work on standardization projects for software under the Oracle technology stack while providing consistent system uptime as expected in a Cloud environment. -100% remote position.
Normal hours are between 10am to 6pm Pacific Coast time, US.

Responsibilities
Desired Skills:
-Scripting: Bash, Powershell, Python, Ansible
-OS: Linux (OL/Redhat), Windows (2016-2022)
-Infrastructure Technologies: Vmware, Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM), KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine), winrm, OLAM, Kubernetes
-Key filesystem concepts: Ext, NFS
-Monitoring: Grafana, OEM
Qualifications Desired:
BS in Computer Science or related field
10 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed cloud computing environment.
Experience in performance monitoring and capacity management
Experience with Backup/Restore operations
Experience with Patching Operations (SCCM, YUM)
Be able to demonstrate relevant Industry experience within the last 5 years.
Excellent System Admin skills in Windows and Linux including shell scripting. OEL/Redhat/Windows 2019+ preferred.
Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills supporting the OS, Storage and Hardware for Applications platforms and Database
Understanding of fundamental Network concepts (e.g. Routing, DNS, Firewalls)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The ability to work both independently and with members of a global team without close supervision
Experience in supporting cloud-base infrastructure (e.g. Oracle OCI Platform) a plus
Work from home 100%

US: Hiring Range: from $85,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
