Role Overview:
As the Nurse Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our Angio Interventional Radiology procedural area and the Interventional Recovery Unit (IRU), ensuring high-quality care and optimal performance. Your leadership will drive the department's success and enhance the patient experience.
Department Overview:
Imaging Services provides care for inpatients, outpatients and emergency patients of all ages 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Patient care needs are assessed by the technologist and /or imaging physician and/or nurse. Assessment includes the ability to understand the procedure as well as the ability to complete the examination process. Care is provided in Imaging Services, Emergency Department, Surgery, Endoscopy Department and at the patient’s bedside.
Interventional Recovery Unit (IRU):
The QET 1 Pre/Post Unit is a 10 bed semi-private outpatient unit. The unit will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The QET 1 Pre/Post Unit provides care for Interventional Recovery patients over the age of 14. Most patients in the QET 1 Pre/Post Unit are pre- and post- diagnostic and interventional procedures completed in the Interventional Recovery (IR) and Cardiac Invasive Services (CIS) departments. Common interventional procedures may include, but are not limited to catheter/tube placement (gastrostomy, cholecystectomy, nephrostomy, biliary, etc.), TIPS, pelvic angiogram, Y90 treatment, vascular access (port, CVC, PICC, etc.) placement, diagnostic cerebral angiogram, carotid stenting, neurovascular embolization (AVM, DAVF, MMA, etc.) cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) patching, and tumor embolization. Common cardiac procedures may include, but are not limited to cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies (EPS), permanent pacemaker insertion, head upright tilt table testing (HUT), peripheral transluminal angioplasty (PTA), percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, coronary artery stent placements, and cardioversions.
Key Responsibilities:
Nurse Manager is responsible for oversight of daily operations of the departments, and supervision and support of personnel and patients. The managerial/administrative role includes setting the standard of care in the department(s), and managing budgets consistent with the mission, vision and philosophy of the organization.
Develops, establishes, and monitors plans and activities to ensure;
Delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Effective planning and coordination of resources.
Compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Achievement of goals and objectives.
Participates in the long-term planning of assigned unit(s) and area(s).
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Hawaii State license as Registered Nurse.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Master's Degree preferred.
Current BLS certification.
Five (5) years progressive experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care facility.
Two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.
Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML), Nurse Executive (NE-BC) or Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC) certification preferred.
Typical Physical Demands:
Standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
Frequent: static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
Occasional: stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of one pound up to five pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
Typical Working Conditions:
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
Subjected to noise/vibrations from intercoms, telephones and monitors.
Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.
