Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Human Resources team builds collaborative strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to support the organization’s mission, goals and initiatives. We develop areas such as workforce staffing and development, operational support, compensation, payroll, benefits, employee relations and organizational effectiveness. As the Employee Relations Manager, you will consult with employees, managers, executives and external contacts to provide expert advice and recommend solutions on the full spectrum of labor relations and compliance issues. This includes overseeing system-wide investigations, responding to situations and managing all levels of disciplinary actions. You will coordinate and supervise some of the work responsibilities of the HR Coordinator, and utilize expertise to mentor and develop other team members and staff. You will also serve as the primary liaison between Hawai‘i Pacific Health and the labor unions. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum five (5) years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Manager, or direct work experience in employee relations working with employees, management and government agencies at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications: Seasoned strategic HR professional with health care experience. Experience with multi-union environments, contract negotiations, laws and regulations applicable to health care.
