Safety-Kleen BPS Area Sales Manager in HOME, New Jersey

Safety-Kleen, is seeking a District Sales Manager, Bulk Product Services, North East Region covering NY, NJ, PA and parts of MD . The District Sales Manager, Bulk Products and Services, Midwest Region is a Remote or Branch role which requires travel. This position focuses on managing a Team of Account Managers and Blended Oil Specialists, who are tasked with growing and maintaining business with a specific emphasis on the 5 main components of BPS: Lubricant Sales, Used Motor Oil, Antifreeze, WWF and AF sales and Waste Antifreeze. This position includes training and ensuring everyone on the sales team has the information and resources necessary to attain their goals, while holding each team member accountable for their activity and results. Weekly team calls will be hosted by this District Sales Manager, and also weekly individual one on one calls with each member of the team to manage them effectively to discuss goals, territory plans and activity. Travel is required to ride along with each member of the Team once per quarter minimum. This Manager will oversee the team to ensure they hit their monthly and quarterly targets for new growth and for budgeted quotas, while pushing for new growth. This position also entails communication with service branches within the territory to discuss and assist with anything needed for inventory, delivery and servicing customers, while collaborating with fellow District Sales Manager and the Director to ensure as a whole, the team meets and exceeds any and all sales growth initiatives.

  • Direct Management of Sales Team including training, team calls, and one on one accountability for activities and results.

  • Create Agenda for weekly calls with Sales Team dependent on recent issues and events to ensure momentum towards maintaining and growing territories is not lost. These will vary to include subjects such as training, strategies, results overview, planning, market intel and updates, and corporate initiatives.

  • Obtain a minimum quarterly and yearly goal in growth. Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue objectives. Establish extensive knowledge of competitive pricing, strategy and market rates to ensure an acceptable win rate at acceptable margins.

  • Maintain daily awareness of direct report sales activities and results. Complete joint sales calls with Account Managers to help grow business and provide coaching and feedback. Conduct performance evaluations of key performance indicators and statistics to monitor progress in attaining goals.

  • Communicate and interact with facility and service management to ensure that customers’ needs are met; Promote communication and coordination between Sales, Operations, Customer Service and Customers.

  • Oversee annual Sales Revenues Budget changes; Ensure the timely and accurate submission of expense reports from direct reports, and control of sales expenses.

  • Work with appropriate Director in formulating, developing, prioritizing and implementing market strategies, market penetration, and business goals and objectives, which will include communication and collaboration with fellow District Sales Managers to ensure teamwork and to meet and exceed goals set with Director.

  • Work with LOB sales in developing business plans and priorities for targeting new cross sell opportunities.

  • Complete regular ride alongs with Account Managers and provide constructive feedback through Route Ride forms.

  • Collaborate with operational personnel to evaluate all potential approaches for new opportunities.

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration/ marketing/ or related field (Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree).

  • Minimum 2 years direct management experience in a Sales Industry with proven effectiveness and sales growth.

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the industrial, automotive or environmental services markets.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation required.

  • Ability to travel overnight as needed.

  • Excellent computer skills (MS Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Time and territory management skills to ensure focus on value-added sales activities.

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to facilitate a service team approach to ensure customer satisfaction and follow-through.

  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive decision-making.

  • Ability to travel within the region.
