County of Blair Supervisor - Adult Parole and Probation in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania

Employee retirement results in our search for a hire within Adult Parole and Probation who will supervise assigned parole and probation officers, complete administrative functions associated with coworkers’ training and work performance, and assist the deputy chief probation officer. Essential duties include review and approval of work done by members of assigned unit; assigning work; reviewing progress and monitoring completion of work; adjusting caseloads; establishing field work schedule; researching offenders’ criminal history/status through Pennsylvania Justice Network (JNET) and Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN), and communicating findings to appropriate department personnel; training officers on Ohio Risk Assessment System; conducting team meetings; supporting employees during on-call duties; driving for completion of duties and/or training; and maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, social work, sociology, and/or psychology; two years’ experience working in adult parole and probation; a strong understanding of the court system; English fluency; ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with public, coworkers, and clients; accuracy and attention to detail; supervisory skills sufficient to oversee a functional unit; demonstrated experience setting schedules and meeting deadlines; computer literacy; and training within defensive tactics, Tasers, OC, firearms, mental health, first aid, Naloxone/Narcan, drug and alcohol dependency, DNA retrieval, and successful completion of basic training academy. Hires must be able to be certified to operate JNET, CLEAN, NCIC databases.
