DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is a Clerk Typist 2 position focused on fiscal information that maintains files and databases, generates correspondence, and communicates effectively with others. In this position, you will document, generate, update, and file all necessary information pertaining to foster care and related services funding for children in placement. This includes creating and maintaining folders regarding a variety of placement, legal, and financial data related to the children and families we serve. You will also enter relevant data into computer systems and maintain accurate, up to date certificates of compliance for agency and other providers, as well as prepare receipts for cash or checks CYF receives and make bank deposits.

Attention to detail is key for preparing correspondence to communicate with the Domestic Relations Office (DRO), the Blair County Assistance Office (BCAO), and the parents or guardians of children in or out of placement. Your proofreading skills will ensure correspondence accurately provides vital information about ways to offset costs, obtain medical assistance, and complete yearly eligibility determinations. This position also acts as a liaison between CYF and BCAO for medical coverage for children in placement and participates via phone in DRO conferences to gather support orders information from parents of children in placement. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
