Adecco has partnered with our client in the Holland area who is hiring a Woodworker/Model Maker.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced, skilled woodworker/model maker to execute detailed plans. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.
Responsibilities:
Sets up and operates variety of woodworking machines and uses various hand tools to fabricate and repair wooden elements and high-grade furniture
Construct and assemble components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and client
Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units
Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, always using blueprints or design plans for reference
Bores holes for insertion of screws or dowels by hand or using boring machine
Glues, fits, and clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit, using clamps or clamping machine
Sands and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishing
May dip, brush, or spray assembled articles with protective or decorative materials, such as stain, varnish, or paint
Clean and repair all equipment necessary for work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools
Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently, and the projects will meet budgetary restrictions
Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed
Reinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality
Maintain a safe working environment by cleaning and disposing of old materials, such as nails and screws
Qualifications:
Capability to read blueprints, drawings and sketches
Valid driver’s license
Familiar with CNC and laminate/veneering equipment
Experience in woodworking, mill and cabinet shop using hand and power woodworking machinery and tools in the layout, milling and assembly of products made from wood and related materials
Pay Details: $28.00 to $32.00 per hour
