Title: Sr. Process Engineer (Electrode Technology)

Reports to: Electrode Technology Manager

Location: Holland, MI

Summary:

The Sr. Technology Engineer will demonstrate a deep knowledge of the battery manufacturing process, data analysis, problem solving, project management, and communication skills to implement machine and process improvements. The effect will be increased battery performance, cost effective manufacturing, and improved yield.

Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations

  • Yield management (Improving productivity and improving production loss)

  • OEE management (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) : Maximize productivity by improving equipment runtime

  • Resolving machine and process issues relating to non-conforming product or machine functioning

  • Leading product tests for new models and specifications, and analyzing the results

  • Perform internal and customer audits

  • Prepare standard documentation: SOP, PFD CP, PFMEA

  • Provide mentorship to other engineers

  • Resolve quality issues and investigate failure modes

  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:

  • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain

  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Required, Black Belt preferred

Experience:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in continuous improvement or manufacturing in a highly automated and/or automotive engineering environment – battery manufacturing preferred

  • Robotic manufacturing equipment

  • Experience with large production lines, PFMEAs, and process controls

  • Experience with Time Studies, Line Balancing, Lean Manufacturing, Bottleneck Analysis
