Summary
The Business Service Representative position is responsible for providing a wide range of recruitment-related services to engage, assess, advise, and assist Northeastern Arizona businesses in meeting their workforce needs. Acts as the voice of the business customer by supporting employment counselors and career advisors with an understanding of current and emerging workforce needs to effectively prepare and match job seekers with the business clients employment opportunities. Services are provided through 1:1 or group interactions and will include client facing, virtual/digital, and/or telephonic means. Services provided are tailored to each client\'s unique needs and may include one or more programs within the Administration and may focus on specialized populations depending on assignment. This position will require extensive road travel within Navajo and Apache counties.
Essential Job Functions

This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.)\ \ Follow and provide feedback toward the development and implementation of the established local strategic plan that includes the comprehensive business services strategy facilitating the direct connection of job seekers with local employers.\ Deliver effective workforce services to connect businesses with workers such as: career pathways, skills upgrading, skill standards development, certification for postsecondary credentials, apprenticeships, and subsidized placements. Continuously improve these procedures based on feedback from employers and the hiring trends of local businesses.\ Act as liaison between employers in targeted industries, the workforce development system, and local business/economic development efforts. Attend meetings in the region as needed to stay abreast of business needs and partnership opportunities.\ Coordinate with workforce partner agencies, local Workforce Board, employers, and educators to identify and connect to training opportunities for in-demand occupations.\ Actively identify and disseminate information on best practices carried out in other areas.\ Use standard office and web technology (such as Microsoft and Google suites) to engage with employers and stakeholders.\ Organize, collaborate, and participate in initiatives such as job fairs, employer informational sessions, and networking events to increase communication between employers/businesses and job seeking participants.\ Assist and Lead, as designated by the Rapid Response Coordinator with activities when ARIZONA@WORK receives a WARN notice for a company layoff, providing rapid reemployment services to the employees affected.\ Prepare press releases, articles, white papers, presentations and speeches to increase the visibility of WIOA services within the local business community.\ Assist in identification of representatives of employers with opportunities in in-demand industries (and/or business leaders with optimal policymaking or hiring authority) to the local Workforce Board.\ Promote WIOA programs such as apprenticeships and custom trainings to local employers and oversee their implementation.\ Work closely with ARIZONA@WORK partner staff, community organizations, and employers to place customers in unsubsidized employment.\ Other duties as assigned.
