NCS Pearson, Inc. Senior Quality Assurance Engineer in Hoboken, New Jersey
Responsible for the quality of our software applications, specifically our Education Management System (Connexus™) by implementing testing procedures. Build strong business relationships with peers from the QA and within their Agile teams, but also with Technical Support and Business Users in order to ensure the QA processes are integrated throughout the software development life cycle and that the overall quality of the product is constantly improving. Participate in all testing activities in order to meet overall software release goals: Test Planning (Functional, Integration, Load/Performance, Acceptance, Regression, etc.), Test Case design, Test Execution, Test Reporting, Defect Tracking, Test Environment evolution and maintenance, etc. Enforce and promote the QA process frameworks, procedures, policies, and standards Determine solutions to obstacles during the test process Enhance team accomplishments and competence by productively working with other members of the team. Adhere and contribute to quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards. Maintain technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations. Accomplish department and organization missions by completing tasks as needed. Assist and mentor junior QA Analysts by providing technical insight, recommendations and requirements. Position is fixed location based in Hoboken, NJ office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.Job Requirements:Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Test Engineer, Web Test Engineer, or similar occupation. Experience must include:Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):-Analyzing business requirements, and writing test plans and test cases-Web technologies such as HTML and CSS-Version control and issue control systems such as JIRA, Jenkins, and Visual Studio (VSTS).-Automated testing, performance testing tools, test case management systems.-Working on Agile teams.Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):-Automated testing and automation tools
