About the role:

Are you looking to make a difference in the exciting field of Sciences? Are you a leader of people? Can you coach and mentor sales teams to success? An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Sales Manager to drive product, recruitment advertising sales and content marketing solutions within the analytical, life sciences and Biotech fields areas across North America. Primary responsibilities include delivering on team KPIs, achieving assigned team target, coaching and assessing skills. In this sales leadership role, you will leverage the broad Wiley portfolio beyond renown brands to deliver print + digital advertising as well as content marketing solutions to grow our business in the sciences space.

How you will make an impact:

  • Effective Management: Manage direct reports to attain and exceed sales plan objectives.
  • Sales Performance: Implement best practices & KPIs with sales teams to cultivate a culture of high sales performance.
  • Forecasting and Pipeline Management: Contribute to sales forecasting and oversee reliable renewal opportunity pipeline management. Effectively use CRM and data to ensure sales success.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other Regional Sales Managers to drive efficient, timely, and accurate turnover of customer sales.
  • Policy and Business Terms: Maintain familiarity with all policies and business terms for Wiley's offerings in the Academic sector. Ensure appropriate familiarity is embedded within the regional team as necessary.
  • Communication: Engage in frequent communication to provide guidance, support, and alignment with company objectives. Be an effective coach.

Desired Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4-year undergraduate degree).
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in the publishing industry and/or sales.
  • Knowledge: High fluency around publishing, advertising sales, both regionally and globally. Experience with product & recruitment advertising strategies.
  • Sales Expertise: Experience in selling and managing complex customer solutions and leading people.
  • Team Management: Demonstrated experience in managing geographically and culturally diverse teams.
